Pulsar NS400Z: Unleash the Beast.

Perspective of Experts on Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z

Rajesh Kumar have developed a deep connection with the world of motorcycles.

The NS400Z is the largest and most powerful pulsar yet produced.

Its not a new Pulsar however.

The KTM 390 Duke platform serves as the foundation for the Dominar 400 motorbike.

 Greetings

The NS400Z is the largest and most powerful pulsar yet produced.

Its not a new Pulsar however.

The KTM 390 Duke platform serves as the foundation for the Dominar 400 motorbike.

Since this 400cc platform is quite outdated Bajaj decided to create the Pulsar 400 since it would be very cost effective to develop and therefore have very competitive price which it does.

A motorcycles launch often impacts other motorcycles in its class.

But with the Pulsar NS400Z Bajaj has been able to compete with several bikes that are in both the 400cc and 300cc classes.

However does purchasing a 400cc Pulsar make sense?  Now continue reading

 Quality & Style

There were many un favorable remarks made about the Pulsar NS400Z when the spy photos were released since they resembled the ten year old Pulsar NS200.

However as we really saw the bike we realized it wasnt ugly at all.

The bike has a butch vibe because of its many chunky panels.

The presence of a well designed LED headlight and the thick USD fork tubes give the front profile excellent bulk.  The bike looks more meatier from the side thanks to the tank shrouds.

However there are many similarities between the fuel tank and the Pulsar NS 200.

Other features that arent really impressive are the split seat the perimeter frame and the outdated tail portion.

Both the paint and the cycle components exhibit some degree of elegance.

Over time Bajaj has become better in this area.

 Comfort and Ergonomics

In order to have sufficient leverage on the road the single piece handlebar is sufficiently broad.

A heavy rider like myself may fit comfortably in the roomy and spacious riders seat and the somewhat rear set foot pegs are positioned appropriately for all types of riders.

Even the 400cc motorbike can fit in the pillion seat.  Our one wish would have been to have bigger and better rear view mirrors.

Although the present ones function effectively their angular design results in a reduced field of view.

 Performance and Management

This is not a brand new engine the 373cc single cylinder liquid cooled motor powers the Pulsar NS400Z.

It has performed tasks on many other Bajaj and KTM motorcycles.

This motors performance must thrill riders since it is in the 400cc class and it does in some respects.

However the power spike only occurs at 4000 rpm and the thrill continues until 7000 rpm.

After then there are quite a few tremors.

At triple digit speeds this engine doesnt seem stressed but the handlebar and peg vibrations are a spoiler.

Still its enjoyable to ride the Pulsar NS400Z on the roads.

The bikes stability at high speeds was something I appreciated…

In contrast the Pulsar NS400Z lacks a natural and communicative feel while handling in corners.

Despite my expectations of a fun experience I was generally let down.

Although the Pulsar NS200 was a lot of fun I didnt find the 400cc version to be as exciting.

I wasnt too excited by the other components either such as the suspension and braking system.

It seems as if little effort was put into ensuring that it performed well..

Progressive performance was provided by the rear brake.

The suspension however was a little harsher than usual which is not appropriate for a city bike.

Although the little bumps are smoothed out this is a fast bike and the lower back absorbs a lot of damage when you strike a large pothole.

There is a lack of plushness in this arrangement.

 Technology & Features

First off the headlight turn indicators and tail light of the Pulsar NS400Z are all equipped with LED lighting.

However the headlight is now equipped with a projector bulb which performs well.

This bikes instrument cluster is brand new and provides a respectable quantity of information.

Because of its Bluetooth connection turn by turn navigation is included by default.

In addition to handling calls and SMS you can use this to clock laps if youre a racetrack enthusiast.

Most high end motorcycles nowadays come equipped with dual channel ABS as standard.

 Fuel Economy

When fully charged the Pulsar NS400 Z can go 350 400 km on a single charge thanks to its 12liter fuel tank and 34 kmph fuel economy.

Do you want to purchase it?

Possibly one of the most aggressively priced bikes in the history of the Indian motorcycle business the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z retails at Rs 1.85 lakh .

It has undercut several motorcycles in its class as well as bikes from lower segments such as the TVS RTR 310.

It provides excellent performance and its feature set is also rather extensive.

It will also cost less to maintain since it is a Bajaj product..

You cant help but endorse this motorbike when you consider the pricing.

It is the most affordable Bajaj bike available in India at the moment.

If youre looking for a 400cc sports bike that offers fantastic value you should too.
