Expert Opinion on Bajaj Pulsar NS200
Rajesh Kumar have developed a deep connection with the world of motorcycles.
We conducted a test ride review of the most recent version
of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 at the companys Chakan test track and on the general
roads surrounding the manufacturing facility.
Overview
It has been updated with dual channels of ABS for enhanced
safety for riders and upside down front forks.
The 2025 Pulsar NS200
still lacks features that its closest competitor
the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has to offer even though the
hardware has caught up to the competition and the suspension system is
superior.
We conducted a test ride review of the most recent version
of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 at the companys Chakan test track and on the general
roads surrounding the manufacturing facility.
These are its
initial thoughts.
The Pictures
There have been few
changes made to the motorcycles design and the 2023 model closely resembles the
NS200 that we have seen in previous years.
The recently fitted
upside down front forks offer the motorcycle a more muscular appearance without
changing the style.
The motorcycle has a
more upscale appearance thanks to the 3D branding and good build quality.
Although the switchgear is also simple due to the lack of a
Bluetooth module the backlit layout is appealing and practical after dark.
It would have been
fantastic to see the 2025 Pulsar NS200 have a more contemporary appearance
given the sleek design of the newest Pulsar line.
However the current model still has a place in a market that
includes models like the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and doesnt appear to be out of
vogue.
The features category
is where it falls short of the Apache RTR 200 4V.
The Bundle
Like the design the
feature list is also unaltered which might not be to every ones taste.
With the help of their specialized smartphone apps these
consoles provide turn by turn navigation as well as call and message
notifications.
The 2023 Pulsar NS200
on the other hand still uses a semi digital console that consists of a small
digital display and an analog tachometer.
Please take note that Bajaj Auto has updated the digital
display with a few new data points..
The panel then
displays an odometer a fuel gauge two trip meters and a gear position
indicator.
This engine which is connected to a six speed gearbox can
generate up to 24.1 horsepower at 9750 rpm and 18.7 Nm of torque at 8000 rpm.
Notably as was said
at the beginning of this first ride review the 2023 Bajaj Pulsar features
hardware upgrades and the most recent model of the motorcycle has inverted
front forks rather than the traditional ones found on the previous model.
However it still has the rear mono shock that can be
adjusted by preload.
Both wheels have disc brakes as part of the braking system
and dual channel ABS has replaced the single channel unit on the previous model
as part of the improved safety net.
Additionally
according to Bajaj Auto the new motorcycle weighs three pounds less than its
predecessor. What is the operation of
this new package?

The Journey
Lets go over the
engine specs first then the updated suspension setup.
The short stroke
motor likes to stay in the upper rev range and the engines characteristics dont
change.
From 3000 rpm it begins to pull away smoothly and after 5500
rpm there is a discernible increase in acceleration.
The Pulsar NS200 can cruise at 80 kmph at 5500 rpm in sixth
gear and it reaches the 100 kmph barrier at 7000 rpm.
Our motorcycles top speed at Bajajs Chakan test track was
139 kmph.
However when utilized
alone the back disc seems to be nearly non existent.
The suspension system
feels hard since it is tailored for enthusiastic riding just like the earlier
models.
However throughout
this short ride the tuning never felt overly harsh or rigid and the setup is
easily tolerable
The motorbike feels nimble and confident because to the
suspension tuning that complements the perimeter frame and is useful when
navigating sharp turns.
We are unable to comment on the cornering clearance with
this piece of hardware because Bajaj Auto removed the center stand for track
ride purposes.
Is it worth purchasing?
The Bajaj Pulsar
NS200 is a stylish motorcycle with a liquid cooled four valve engine that goes
well with its aggressive style even though its design hasnt changed.
The clutch lever
feels light and effortless the handling feels nimble and the vibrations are now
restricted to the foot pegs all of which improve the overall riding experience.
The Pulsar NS200 is now more aesthetically pleasing and a
better ride thanks to the freshly installed upside down front forks.
The roadster motorcycle is strongly supported by these
arguments.
However the Pulsar
NS200s feature set is far from that of its competitors and it wont allow you to
boast like the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V does.
While the gear
position indicator and real time fuel economy figures are added Bluetooth
connectivity which adds a plethora of capabilities to the motorcycle is still
absent.
If youre upgrading from the 100150cc class of motorcycles
available in the Indian market the Pulsar NS200 is a very appealing motorcycle
except the feature list.
